I am in Speed Zone's dragster strapping myself in pulling hard on the harness. Edging the car forward until the Christmas tree lights show a staged status, pressing hard on the brake to get the back red lights lit, then before the three yellows turn green I rev up the 300 hp engine to hear it sing. OOOOPS... the wrong song.

No, we are in Laguna Beach, not at next month's TPOC event in the City of Industry. Instead, we are seated in the Forum theater to enjoy the music and, lo and behold, we do. It's old fashioned Christmas music with some modern touches. This is politically incorrect but absolutely inspiring. The angelic chorus accompanied by a piano, brass, drums, bass, and reeds that add to the joy. Both the featured soprano and alto could be opera candidates. A small rock band clears the stage to bring us a foot tapping performance. The season's rush pressures us each day: this respite opens the hearts of 18 members and associates to a truly wonderful time.

The Holiday Party was held at the beautiful Meadowlark Country Club. Its second floor setting overlooked the golf course offering a nice background for the presentation by TPOC President Dave Rudderow. The non-car presents he distributed were welcomed by each one. I still wonder how I will fit the Phyllis' DVD player into my dash and how long an extension cord I will need. Over 90 people attended with two dozen Panteras on display in the parking lot. Three Panteras from the local chapters lined the entrance and were outstanding examples of the marque. The show of support impressed all. Success is the only word to describe this year's party, thanks to Ron Novak. The only question is, will you be there next year? We all hope so.

Join us at Speed Zone on January 29^th for family fun Drag, scale Indy and Kart racing or electronic games and mini golf. It's an outing geared to the level you wish to participate.
